Get a Tile Installation Quote.

Free, no-obligation quotes on tile installation across Salmon Arm, Enderby, Sicamous, Blind Bay, and the wider North Okanagan. Here is how our quoting works, what shapes the price of a tile job, and what to send us so the number you get is an accurate one.

How It Works

A Real Number, Not a Guess

Tile is one of the trades where a quick guess over the phone rarely holds up. The same square footage can swing widely in price depending on the tile format, the condition of what is underneath it, and how much of the existing space has to come out first.

So rather than quote blind, we ask a few questions up front, look at the space wherever we can, and give you a written number that reflects the job you actually have. If something during the build changes that number, you hear about it before the work happens, not after.

The Process

From First Message to Finished Tile

Four steps, and you are never left wondering where things stand.

01 Send Us the Details

Fill in the form below with your city, the type of project, and a short description of the space. Photos help enormously, so if you have them, mention it and we will follow up for them by email. The more we can see up front, the tighter the quote.

02 A Conversation

Edison will get back to you to talk through what you are picturing: tile choice, layout, whether the shower is a rebuild or a resurface, and whether there is anything unusual about the space. Most quotes need this step to be worth anything.

03 On-Site Measure

For most custom showers and larger floors, we come out and measure. This is where the things that actually drive cost get found: an out-of-level floor, an old mortar bed, a wall that is not plumb, or a substrate that needs replacing before any tile goes down.

04 Your Written Quote

You receive a written, itemised, no-obligation quote. No pressure and no expiry games. If you want to think about it, change the tile, or phase the work over time, that is entirely normal and we are happy to re-quote.

What Actually Drives the Cost of a Tile Job

Two bathrooms of identical size can quote very differently. These are the factors that move the number most, and the ones we look hardest at when pricing your project.

01 Tile Size and Format

Large-format tile needs a flatter substrate, more back-buttering, and often a second set of hands to place. Small mosaics and hexagons take far longer per square foot because of the sheer number of cuts and grout joints. Both cost more to install than a standard 12 × 24.

02 Layout Complexity

A straight-set floor is quick. Herringbone, chevron, mitred outside corners, feature bands, and pattern changes across a threshold all add layout time and waste. Beautiful, and worth it, but they belong in the quote honestly rather than as a surprise.

03 Condition of the Substrate

This is the biggest hidden variable. Floors that are out of level, walls that are not plumb, failing backer board, or an old mortar bed all need correcting before tile goes down. Tile will not hide a bad substrate, it will telegraph it and eventually crack over it.

04 Waterproofing System

Every wet area needs a proper waterproofing system, and which one your project calls for affects both material and labour. We walk through this in detail on our waterproofing page.

05 Demolition and Disposal

Removing an existing tub, tile, or shower base, and hauling it away, is real labour and real dump fees. If you or another trade is handling demo, tell us, because it changes the quote meaningfully.

06 Built-Ins and Extras

Niches, benches, curbless entries, linear drains, and heated floor systems each add both material and installation time. A curbless shower in particular needs planning with the framing, so the earlier we know, the better.

What Helps Us Quote Accurately

None of this is required to get in touch. But the more of it you can include, the closer the first number will be to the final one.
